What I learned this past weekend...

Mommy: "Josh, what do you do at a green light?"

Josh: "Go!"

Our little dare devil

Warning! Slightly scary video...

Aunt Shelly and Uncle Juan - here's what you have to look forward to in a year and a half!

Josh also said "please" today. He's said it before, but not when he wanted something. Today, he said it because he wanted one of us to open the baby gate!

Trip to California

At the wharf...

Eating lunch out.

I'm happy in my stroller (right this minute!).

With Uncle Juan and Aunt Shelly.

On the airplane - I'm really tired and cranky.

Oh, I can sleep on the airplane?

Josh at 16 1/2 months...

Josh said "uh-oh" today (for the first time).
He says "byeball" for "eyeball".
If you tell him to "wash his hair", he will rub his head with both hands even if he's not in the bathtub.
Was sick for the first time this week - think he caught a cold from Mommy. Had a fever of about 101 degrees, but only for about 24 hours or so. He was really sad and fell asleep crying that night.
He likes to sit on Bones - on Bones' back straddling him with both legs.
Has a drink of water from a sippy cup before bed - instead of milk or a bottle.
Loves to watch Elmo's World on Sesame Street.
Went to visit Mimi and Tutor and picked up the phone, turned on the TV, and played with the mouse (computer) on the desk before he played with any toys.
Needs a haircut again (already).
Gives (and receives) Eskimo kisses! SO cute!

Night, night...

Last night, Josh said "Night, night, Ma Ma". So sweet! I think two words together counts as a sentence, don't you?

Josh can also say:

Clock
Belly button
Bones
Night-night (his name for his blanket)
Hello (when he picks up a cell phone) - sounds like "O".

Bye-bye...

Josh said bye-bye today for the first time. We were talking on the phone to Mimi and when I said goodbye and hung up, Josh waved his hand and said bye-bye. I was so surprised that I immediately called Mimi back and told her that Josh just said bye-bye. He then proceeded to say it two or three more times and Mimi even heard him say it!

Other recent stories...

Mischief #1 - We had Josh's infant carrier sitting on the couch in our other living room (not the den that we spend most of our time in). I saw Josh try to grab hold of the side of the infant carrier and pull himself up onto the couch. Of course, I told him no, that wasn't safe. We went back into the den to get away from the temptation. A few minutes later Josh disappears from the den and of course, when he's too quiet, it's good to be suspicious. So, I went looking for him. I walk into the living room and what do I see, but Josh, who has not only managed to get up onto the couch, but who also managed to get into the infant carrier on the couch. He was just sitting there, lounging / relaxing, with a satisfied (smug?!) look on his face, like "I knew I could get up here!"

Mischief #2 - Josh has gotten in the habit of standing up in his high chair, despite repeatedly being told to sit down. The other day, Josh stood up in the high chair and when I told him to sit back down, he smiled and leaned forward to give me a kiss. Of course, that just melted my heart, but he wasn't done yet. I tried to keep a straight face and told him again to sit down. So, what did he do? He smiled, waved at me, gave me his "cute look" (smile with head tilted to the side and shoulder scrunched up), and then leaned over to give me a hug. I swear - he must have a been thinking - "What all tricks do I know that I can do to get out of having to sit down?"

Josh was 15 months on August 1st...

He can say the following words:
DaDa
MaMa
car
vroom (more the sound than the word)
hot
baba (bottle)
bath
Bones
caca (for anything bad)
bye-bye (as of today)

He is also going through a VERY whiny phase (for the past few days).

Just like Daddy...

Josh saw Daddy using the screwdriver to remove the battery cover on a toy to replace the batteries and he just had to try it for himself...
