Bye-bye...

Josh said bye-bye today for the first time. We were talking on the phone to Mimi and when I said goodbye and hung up, Josh waved his hand and said bye-bye. I was so surprised that I immediately called Mimi back and told her that Josh just said bye-bye. He then proceeded to say it two or three more times and Mimi even heard him say it!

Other recent stories...

Mischief #1 - We had Josh's infant carrier sitting on the couch in our other living room (not the den that we spend most of our time in). I saw Josh try to grab hold of the side of the infant carrier and pull himself up onto the couch. Of course, I told him no, that wasn't safe. We went back into the den to get away from the temptation. A few minutes later Josh disappears from the den and of course, when he's too quiet, it's good to be suspicious. So, I went looking for him. I walk into the living room and what do I see, but Josh, who has not only managed to get up onto the couch, but who also managed to get into the infant carrier on the couch. He was just sitting there, lounging / relaxing, with a satisfied (smug?!) look on his face, like "I knew I could get up here!"

Mischief #2 - Josh has gotten in the habit of standing up in his high chair, despite repeatedly being told to sit down. The other day, Josh stood up in the high chair and when I told him to sit back down, he smiled and leaned forward to give me a kiss. Of course, that just melted my heart, but he wasn't done yet. I tried to keep a straight face and told him again to sit down. So, what did he do? He smiled, waved at me, gave me his "cute look" (smile with head tilted to the side and shoulder scrunched up), and then leaned over to give me a hug. I swear - he must have a been thinking - "What all tricks do I know that I can do to get out of having to sit down?"

Josh was 15 months on August 1st...

He can say the following words:
DaDa
MaMa
car
vroom (more the sound than the word)
hot
baba (bottle)
bath
Bones
caca (for anything bad)
bye-bye (as of today)

He is also going through a VERY whiny phase (for the past few days).

Just like Daddy...

Josh saw Daddy using the screwdriver to remove the battery cover on a toy to replace the batteries and he just had to try it for himself...
